Ted Rybka is the Director of Sports Media for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). The Sports Media program was created to ensure that the stories of LGBT athletes, coaches and fans are included in media as a way to combat anti-gay prejudice in American sports culture. He also served as founder and editor-in-chief of Compete, a magazine dedicated to covering LGBT sports and athletes. Prior to that he was a journalist covering health, sports, politics and more. Rybka holds two degrees from Arizona State University, a master's degree in mass media and a bachelor of arts in Russian. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Army for four years as a Russian voice interceptor.
